**ADORABLE**No Prep Apple Seeds Counting Mat

I cant believe its almost fall! If you blink, the year will be gone. Cooler weather brings long sleeves and of course, APPLES!!!! Apples are one of the most common things you associate with Fall. In the spirit of fall, I decided to create a simple, no prep counting mat for my preschoolers to practice their fine motor and counting skills.

How to Use:

Print the printable on card stock. (Please put the printer settings on print to page.) Laminate or place in a dry erase sleeve or page protector sheet for durability. Gather a manipulative you would like to use to count. Choices can include black beans, black buttons, black pom poms, actual apple seeds, etc.
Use a dry erase marker to write a number in the box located in the top upper right corner. Encourage your child to count that many "seeds" onto the apple.

Variations:

Use a die to randomly select a number .
Use a plastic number instead of writing the number to place into the box.
Encourage your child to rainbow write (write the number in several different colors)
Use playing cards to randomly select a number.

I hope you really like this printable. All of my printables and sensory kits are inspired by my love of teaching and my 2 young sons. If you enjoy this printable feel free to share it but please give credit back to Beelieve Academy. Use the hashtag #beelieveacademy on Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

50 Covid Family Friendly Ways to Honor Earth Day (Doing our part at home)

Taking Care of Our Earth Last year marked 50 years of celebrating Earth Day. Earth Day began in 1970 after Gaylord Nelson, a senator from Wisconsin, decided to organize a national “teach in” to educate people about protecting the environment. Since then, multiple environmental agencies have developed such as the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as environmental laws such as the Clean Air Act, the Water Quality Improvement Act, and the Endangered Species Act. There are small things we can do at home that can make a huge impact on the planet. As a parent, I feel it's important to teach my children to care about the environment. It is our children that will inherit the Earth and they need to know their actions can make an impact- positive or negative. Below you will find things you can do as a family to help the environment. 50 Ways We Can Do Our Part At Home Turn off the faucet - This may be an obvious way to save the planet. Earth Day

Earth Day is almost upon us. In year 2020, we celebrated our 50th Earth Day. Covid could not even stop virtual events from happening globally. Once a year, people become aware of our actions and inquire about ways to help protect our environment. In fact, Earth Day can be everyday. There are small things we can do at home that can make a huge impact on the planet. As a parent, I feel it's important to teach my children to care about the environment. It is our children that will inherit the Earth and they need to know their actions can make an impact- positive or negative.   We can...

Preschool Transition Tips and Songs

What is a transition? A transition is a period where you are moving from one activity to another. Transitions can be a trying time and the hardest part of your day. But it doesn’t have to be. Transitions need to be consistent (scheduled) and as short as possible. Children often act out when they are waiting too long for the next activity to start. Minimize your transitions so that your children are not waiting longer than 5 minutes. Fill the time with a song appropriate for the activity- sing a song about food during lunch time, sing a clean up song after center time, sing a goodbye song at dismissal. Planning your transitions in advance will make your life and your child’s life a lot easier. Choose a song or phrase for each activity so your child will know what to expect. Singing the same song or playing a song for a particular activity will provide your child with stability and a sense of control. There are so many things out of a child’s control that they often resist transit...
